Who Do We Help
American Friends of Rambam is an organization committed to raising awareness and funds for Rambam Health Care Campus (RHCC) in Haifa, Israel.
RHCC serves as a referral medical center, unifying fields of medical science and employing a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment. Some 75,000 people are hospitalized at RHCC each year, with another 500,000 treated in its outpatient clinics and medical institutes. It also serves as the principal medical
facility for the Northern Command of the Israel Defense Forces.
The medical center comprises 36 departments with some 1000 beds, 45 medical units,
9 institutes, 6 laboratories and 30 administrative and maintenance departments. Some of RHCC’s departments are the exclusive providers of comprehensive services for all of northern Israel, including trauma treatment, oncology, and neurosurgery.
As an academic hospital, RHCC also maintains vital teaching and research links with the Technion’s Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, providing a dynamic clinical environment for diagnosis, treatment and research.
Rambam needs donations in three major areas: Equipment and Supplies, Capital Projects and Research & Development.
EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES
Rambam's chief aim is to continue to provide the best possible treatment and care to patients. Within this context exist many crucial hospital requirements not included in our budgetary framework.
Rambam's Annual Campaign goal is to cover value-added hospital expenditures, which can include everything from the purchase of costly disposables to the maintenance and repair of medical equipment and buildings.
You can find examples of the charitable opportunities available to campaign donors in the "HOW YOU CAN HELP" section.
CAPITAL PROJECTS
Rambam's 5-10 year, $300 million Vision of Adam development plan for the 21st century aims to meet our medical center's current and future requirements for functional growth.
Plans call for constructing an Underground Emergency Hospital and an above-ground complex of buildings to include a Biomedical Discovery Tower, Cardiovascular Hospital, Children's Hospital, and Oncology Hospital.
The plan also calls for conserving, expanding and fortifying relevant existing structures, with our Emergency Trauma Center a first priority; and for providing open spaces and landscaped green areas. Sixteen thousand square meters of land at the heart of the Rambam campus have been allocated for these purposes.
All capital-building projects and major-equipment needs offer donors opportunities for naming recognition. For details please check the "HOW YOU CAN HELP" section.
